FAQ’s
Yes. We fire our pieces in two distinct ranges depending on the clay’s origin and the desired finish.
- Our stoneware is fired to high temperatures (above 1220°C), making it fully vitrified, non-porous, and exceptionally durable.
- Our earthenware and specific wild clay pieces are fired to mid-range temperatures (approx. 1140°C) to preserve unique mineral colours and textures.
Both ranges are finished with high-quality, food-safe glazes that seal the surface. While our ceramics are dishwasher and microwave-safe, we recommend hand-washing—especially for our mid-fire pieces—to preserve the unique “alchemy” of the hand-mixed clays and glazes for years to come.
Because we use minerals, soils, and stones collected from the Croatian landscape, each firing produces subtle variations in colour and texture. Unlike mass-produced ceramics, these “wild” elements react to the kiln’s heat in ways that cannot be perfectly replicated—meaning your piece is truly the only one of its kind in the world.
Not all, and for a very purposeful reason. Processing wild clay—from hand-collecting and filtering to testing for mineral stability—is a slow, labour-intensive scientific process that can take weeks to months for a single batch.
To meet demand while maintaining my standards, I work with two types of collections:
The Wild Collections: Pieces made from foraged Croatian clays and minerals. These are extremely limited and sell out quickly due to the time required to process the earth.
The Studio Collections: For our core functional pieces, I use high-quality, professional clay bodies. It’s important to remember that all clay is a 100% natural material from the earth; “commercial” simply means it has been refined for the consistency and durability required for daily use. The glazes are either MŪN studio original formulas, or stable mineral base prepared by a local partner.
We take great care to ensure your pieces arrive safely. In line with our commitment to sustainability, we use either plastic-free or recycled packaging materials. We ship from our Zagreb studio to collectors worldwide, with tracked shipping for peace of mind.
